The Ideological Animal

"We think our political stance is the product of reason, but we're easily manipulated and surprisingly malleable. Our essential political self is more a stew of childhood temperament, education, and fear of death. Call it the 9/11 effect."

Jay Dixit writes an interesting article on political bias in Psychology Today.

Note: The more science reveals, the more my respect for David Hume grows...

"Reason is and ought to be the slave of the passions and can never pretend to any other office than to serve and obey them." -- David Hume, A Treatise on Human Nature.
